Information meeting at Wolfle Elementary, Feb 21 6-7pm

The information meeting provides prospective parents with an overview of the Options Program and the qualities that set it apart from typical school classrooms. The classroom teachers and school principal discuss multiple aspects of the program, including multi-age classrooms, project based experiential learning, differentiated learning, Options camps and family involvement. Parent volunteer requirements are also discussed. Representatives from the parent group will be in attendance to share their experiences with the program. The meeting will include an informal question and answer period to address any specific questions about the program and the application process. Attendance at an information meeting is strongly encouraged as part of the application process.

Lottery Process for Options: applicants will be divided by grade level, and then by sibling status. Sibling draw will fill up to half of all available spots, preceding the general draw for each grade level.

For New Options Families

Many of the Options Program volunteer opportunities, including the two annual camp events, require adult parents and guardians to be fingerprinted by the district.

It is highly recommended to begin the volunteer paperwork and fingerprinting process as soon as possible.

Volunteer application forms and info can be found on the NK School district website and returned to the Wolfle office.

Digital fingerprinting is done by Olympic ESD 114 in Bremerton, by appointment.  Cost is $78.

After your fingerprinting session, email Elizabeth Campbell ecampbell@nkschools.org  in the NK School District to alert her to incoming fingerprints.  It is best to have already turned in your volunteer paperwork a week or two prior to fingerprinting.

Some field trips rely on parent drivers to take students to and from off-campus locations.  All drivers ferrying students other than their own children MUST be fingerprinted AND have current volunteer drivers paperwork on file.  Drivers must meet minimum insurance requirements set by the district.  Info and forms are returned to the Wolfle office and are available here:  Field Trip Use of Private Vehicle application link

NOTE: You will need to bring your drivers license and copy of the vehicle insurance declarations of coverage page (not insurance card) which is usually sent with your insurance renewal or can be downloaded from your insurance company account page.
